[Poem 8] A spring poem among one hundred poems composed. // Kōmyōbuji nyūdō Former Regent Minister of the Left Michiie // The sun rises, opening up the heaven’s door. / The spring of the divine age must have arrived.

[Poem 9] Kino Tsurayuki [ca. 872–945] // Spring mist has risen, yet at Yoshino mountains / snow is falling even today.
